Have you been to Tofino? It’s on the Western edge of Vancouver Island, located as far west as you can drive in Canada. There, you’ll find remote beaches strewn with driftwood, sand dollars and dense coastal rain forests that have remained untouched for thousands of years; bears and eagles, seals and sea otters and all manner of wildlife.
We found this piece of sea urchin shell on MacKenzie Beach when taking a morning stroll on the beach with our pups. There are 200 different species of sea urchins found throughout the world and you can find 3 of them in Tofino. We love walking on the beach after the tide has gone out to find so many beautiful sea urchin outer shells scattered along the sandy shores.
