Have you been to Tofino? It’s on the Western edge of Vancouver Island, located as far west as you can drive in Canada. There, you’ll find remote beaches strewn with driftwood, sand dollars and dense coastal rainforests that have remained untouched for thousands of years; bears and eagles, seals and sea otters and all manner of wildlife.
We found this piece of coral on Chesterman’s Beach. Although we’re total beginner surfers, we travel to Tofino to surf, enjoy wildlife and eat tasty tacos (yes, there’re some amazing ones there!). We found the coral at one of these trips and it’s most likely a type of Pacific Coast Rocky Reefs. If you want to have a piece of West Coast or coral with you, this is the one.

The coral is approximately 1 cm diameter (round) and 0.8 cm x 1.3 cm (teardrop)
