We have so many amazing species of trees in BC so we decided to combine the two. Douglas Fir and Arbutus bark imprints are now in one necklace. Here is more information about the imprints and where we found them.
Douglas Fir:
Douglas Fir is easy to identify as they can be as tall as 85 meters on the coast of Vancouver Island. The bark becomes very thick with age and deeply grooved, with dark reddish-brown ridges. This particular bark was found in Metchosin which is just outside of Victoria, BC.
Arbutus:
We found this piece of Arbutus branch washed up and weathered on the beach on Galiano Island during our visit with friends. Its amazing past has left cracks in the branch so we could share the story and beauty with you.
